Chung-Ang University - University at Buffalo, Sign Agreement for Student Exchange and Collaborative Research

On Feb. 27th, President Park Sang-gue met with the President of the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, who was visiting Chung-Ang University, and they signed an agreement on student and research exchange programs.


President Park Sang-gue, Vice President for International Affairs Woo Su-han, Head of the International Affairs Team Yang Seung-il, Deputy Head of the International Affairs Team Lee Jeong-min, and a staff member of the International Affairs Team, Choi Seo-hee, as well as faculty members engaged in collaborative research with the University at Buffalo, participated in the signing ceremony and welcomed the delegation from the University at Buffalo. This is the second meeting with President Tripathi, since the signing of the MOU for exchange and cooperation at the University at Buffalo, last July.

On this day, Chung-Ang University and the University at Buffalo, agreed to establish a broad collaboration framework in the areas of faculty exchange, student exchange, joint research, and short-term academic programs. Discussions were held on the number of participants for the student exchange program and the UB Faculty Led Summer 2025 short-term academic program.

University at Buffalo is a leading research-oriented comprehensive university in the Eastern United States and is classified as a top-tier research university in the Carnegie Classification, Tier 1 (R1), in the United States. Founded in 1864 as a public university, it currently has around 33,000 students and 3,000 faculty and staff, and is also the university where President Park Sang-gue earned his Ph.D. in Statistics in 1990. The current status of collaborative research between Chung-Ang University and University at Buffalo involves 8 faculty members conducting research in the fields of Social Welfare, Education, Architecture, and Public Health.

Following the collaborative research meeting and special lectures held in February of this year, Chung-Ang University will host a summer symposium to accelerate collaborative research. Chung-Ang University plans to continue its exchange with global research-oriented universities and strengthen its cooperation system with foreign universities, with a focus on fostering global talent.


President Tripathi stated, "We are glad to have been able to develop a relationship with Chung-Ang University in such a short time. We will continue to work toward a positive agreement in the upcoming new exchange and cooperation initiatives. We hope that through this agreement, both universities will build a stronger partnership and achieve meaningful outcomes in the fields of education and research."


President Park Sang-gue stated, "Today is a meaningful occasion as Chung-Ang University and University at Buffalo are strengthening their friendly relationship. We hope that this agreement will foster active collaborative research among faculty members and mutual exchange among undergraduate students. We look forward to both universities growing together through continued cooperation and mutual exchange in the future."
