Chung-Ang University conducted an Overseas Volunteering Activity in Vietnam, in collaboration with Doosan Vina.

Da Vinci Campus Community Outreach Group, in collaboration with Doosan Vina, the local subsidiary of Doosan Enerbility in Vietnam, conducted the '10th Chung-Ang University Vietnam Overseas Volunteer Group' activity in the Quang Ngai Province of Vietnam for a total of ten days from February 10th (Mon) to 19th (Wed).

Cho Yong-chan, head of the Academic Affairs, and 38 volunteers carried out volunteer programs including education and cultural exchange, environmental cleanup, and more at Binh Hai Elementary School, Binh My Elementary School, and surrounding areas located in Quảng Ngãi Province, in collaboration with Doosan Vina employees and students from the Korean Language Department of Duy Tan University in Da Nang. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities conducted by Doosan Vina, along with the interpretation services provided by students from the Korean Language Department of Duy Tan University in Da Nang, enhanced the value of the volunteer work.

The volunteer group conducted educational activities, including teaching Korean children's songs, origami, and P.E. activities for Vietnamese elementary students, as well as environmental improvement activities such as mural painting and tree planting, and diverse cultural performances like Taekwondo, Traditional Korean music, dance, and cheerleading, receiving great response from the students and staff.

The volunteer activities, now in their 10th session, expanded the scope of the group's work by adding a variety of new activities. The cultural volunteer programs, consisting of screening Korean cartoon films, experiencing making Dalgona, and playing Korean language guessing games, provided an opportunity to become more familiar with Korean culture, while the welfare volunteer programs, which involved measuring the stress levels of local teaching staff and offering psychological care and counseling, were regarded as a meaningful and differentiated approach compared to previous volunteer activities.

In particular, the Seoul Football Association and Chung-Ang University's football team also participated in the volunteer activities, donating 50 pairs of soccer shoes and 20 soccer balls. This donation event became even more meaningful as it provided practical help to Vietnamese students, who have difficulty obtaining sports equipment, allowing them to enjoy sports and nurture their dreams and hopes.

The students who participated as volunteers expressed their gratitude for the warm hospitality of the local students and staff during the volunteer activities, and hoped to continue such opportunities for service and collaboration in the future.

The student leader, Cho Hye-seong, a junior from the School of Sports Science, said, "By participating in the volunteer group, I was able to have many great experiences that I had never had before. I think this will be a precious and valuable life experience not only for the young students in Vietnam but also for the students who participated in the volunteer group. I deeply thank everyone who joined us in the volunteer activities."

Cho Yong-chan, the leader of the Community Outreach Group (Da Vinci), stated, "I believe that our Chung-Ang University students had a meaningful time participating in this volunteer activity, where they could directly experience and practice the values of sharing and service. I hope that what they learned through this volunteer work will be a strong foundation for their growth, and we will actively support more students at the Da Vinci campus to develop their abilities as global citizens through various volunteer activities."
