Chung-Ang University’s Football Team has announced that, with the conclusion of the 2024 season, a total of 8 players have advanced to the professional league, proudly demonstrating its significant role as a 'gateway' to professional football league based on their exceptional abilities.

The players who have been called up to the professional league this time are Captain ▲Choi Seon-gyu (DF, Gimpo FC), ▲Jeong Jong-geun (FW, Busan Transportation Corporation), ▲Kwak Yong-chan (DF, Pocheon Citizen FC), ▲Lee Soo-ho (FW, Yangpyeong FC), ▲Kang Hyo-on (MF, Jeju SK), ▲Ryu Seong-min (GK, Ulsan HD), ▲Moon Hyeong-jin (MF, Suwon Samsung), and ▲Jeong Tae-in (MF, Jeonnam Dragons).

In recent years, Chung-Ang University’s Football Team has not only achieved excellent results in tournaments but has also established itself as a prestigious institution in university football league by producing numerous players who have advanced to the professional league. At the end of the 2023 season, which was one year ago, 6 players from the team also signed with professional clubs.

Although Chung-Ang University has consistently achieved good results in producing professional players, this year's achievement is particularly outstanding. There has been no case among any other domestic university football teams where more players have advanced to the professional league than Chung-Ang University.

Chung-Ang University's Football Team has a squad that emphasizes 'tactical flexibility,' focusing on solid defense, quick transitions between attack and defense, wing plays, and dynamic movement to systematically find and exploit spaces. Chung-Ang University's coaching staff is committed to helping each player reach their full potential through consistent training and providing valuable advice on positional movements and other key aspects of their performance. It is evaluated that the philosophies of Head Coach Oh Hae-jong and Coach Kim Yong-hee played a key role in leading the players to turn professional.

In the recently held 'The 21st Tongyeong - the Promised Land, University Football Tournament for 1st and 2nd-year students', Chung-Ang University Football Team demonstrated positive performance as the new players and existing members blended well together. With the inclusion of new players who have stood out in national competitions, it is expected that they will effectively fill the gap left by the players who moved on to the professional league. It is also expected that they will continue to maintain strong competitiveness in the university league in 2025.

A spokesperson for the sports team said, "The football team players have proven their skills beyond the university league and are now ready to showcase the reputation of Chung-Ang University's Football on the professional league. We hope everyone to pay close attention and offer support for their performances as they embark on new challenges with their respective teams."
