CAU joined hands with Commission on Asian Economic Development for the sake of strengthening international competitiveness.

CAU signed the ‘Agreement on Training Specialized Workers and Extending to the Global Society through Cooperation on International Exchange’ with Commission on Asian Economic Development on Dec. 27, at Hall 201 (Main hall).

They are going to share information on international exchange and carry out cooperative projects—attracting international students to Korea, developing services for global education and research, and exchanging information related to training workers for international affairs.

CAU and Commission on Asian Economic Development will work on together in various fields. CAU’s competitiveness in ICT, cultural art, advanced media, medicine and pharmacy, energy, and urban development will fully support international education and research and its commercialization.

This agreement is expected to strengthen our university’s cooperative relationship with Iran among many Middle East countries, as Yoon Seok-Heon, Chair of the Commission on Asian Economic Development, has his expertise in the Middle East and is especially well-known as an ‘Iranian source’. Chairman Yoon also served as a director of the Korea-Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Yoon said, “Iran has big cultural differences with neighboring Middle Eastern countries, using a different language and calendar system. The country has a high preference for Korean cultural content, as its interest in Korean Wave (Hallyu) shows. It will lead to great attention on Chung-Ang University, which has strengths in those fields.” He added, “I will employ a well-built network to have many talents visit CAU.”

President Park Sang-Gue said, “Iranian students who are studying at CAU are highly satisfied. I expect this agreement will expand the exchange with the Middle East and help it settle. Also, I hope the expansion of public exchange would help Korea as well.”
