After discussing with the University of Hong Kong over the past few years, CAU’s Office of International Affairs succeeded in concluding an exchange agreement, allowing students to study at a prestigious university with an international reputation.
At the same time, CAU also signed a new agreement with Tilburg University in the Netherlands. Established in 1927, Tilburg University is well known as a research-oriented university that specializes in the social sciences, such as management, economics, law, and psychology. Rachael Vickerman, an official of the university’s Office of International Affairs, mentioned the impact of Korean culture among Dutch students, and said that the university would actively work to promote future exchanges, including student exchanges.
Furthermore, CAU launched exchanges with Centennial College, which is based in Toronto, Canada. Centennial College boasts of an active international exchange, with over 15,000 foreign students. It has five campuses in Toronto and regional offices in 13 cities around the world. Centennial College officials who visited CAU, including Vice President Glen Lowry, said that they are conducting industry-academia cooperation with over 1,500 local companies in Canada, and will also provide internship opportunities to CAU students studying at Centennial College.
CAU is committed to expanding its global network encompassing students, education, and research by interacting with 651 universities in 73 countries around the world. Based on the new agreement, CAU plans to send exchange students to these schools starting next spring semester.
An official of the Office of International Affairs, who led the conclusion of the agreement, said, “We are pleased to have established an exchange policy with the world’s most prestigious universities that are leading the way in cultivating global leaders. We expect that it will be a vital stepping stone in strengthening Chung-Ang University’s educational network, and provide our students with a wide range of international experiences.”
