Chung-Ang University (CAU, President Park Sang-gue) will work with the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KIMM) to foster excellent research personnel and promote collaborative research.
On the 13th, the “CAU-KIMM Academic Exchange Agreement Ceremony for Academic Exchange and Mutual Development” was held in the President’s Conference Room on the third floor of Building 210 (Main Building) in CAU’s Seoul Campus.
In attendance at the ceremony were officials from KIMM, including President Ryu Seokhyun, Head of the Eco-friendly Energy & Environment Research Division Song Donggeun, and Head of the Administrative Division Yoo Byeongmin. CAU officials, including Chairperson Lee Hyunsoon, President Park Sang-gue, Vice President for Research Sung Maengje, Dean of the College of Engineering Jang Seunghwan, and Director of Research Jang Hangbae, welcomed the guests.
With the agreement, CAU and KIMM will work together to secure challenging research projects and carry out joint research. The goal is to promote mutual development by fostering excellent research personnel and facilitating information exchange that encompasses education, research, and industry-academia cooperation in all areas of advanced science and technology including AI, advanced robotics, energy, ultra-precision equipment, semiconductor equipment, new nano materials, medical equipment, and international logistics.
The two institutions plan to appoint academic-research professors as soon as possible to maximize their research capabilities. CAU and KIMM also plan to present various examples of cooperation including ▲ planning joint research projects ▲ securing research projects ▲ conducting convergence research projects ▲ implementing mutual exchange of research personnel ▲ providing field training and education opportunities ▲ facilitating exchange of research and education information ▲ providing joint guidance on papers, and ▲ establishing a global research network.
Chairperson Lee said, “We are pleased that CAU and KIMM have joined forces for a challenging and creative research collaboration. We will strive to secure the development of both institutions and research as the future growth engine of the country.”
President Park said, “Academic-research exchanges with prestigious research institutions such as KIMM are of valuable help in strengthening the competitiveness of universities. Through this agreement, we will strengthen the research capacity of Chung-Ang University, a research-oriented university, and also devote ourselves to cultivating excellent research personnel. We hope this will be a good opportunity for both institutions to grow together.
