Chung-Ang University (CAU)’s Office of International Affairs (OIA) took part in the 30th Annual Conference & Expo, held in Geneva, Switzerland for four days from September 11th (Tue) to 14th (Fri) by European Association for International Education Exhibition (EAIE). CAU installed a booth to promote the Study in Korea project and have a meeting on international exchange.
The EAIE exhibition is an annual event, held in Europe every September, and approximately 5,700 participants from 95 countries attended this year.

Twelve Korean universities including Hanyang University, Ewha University, and CAU itself promoted not only themselves, but Korean higher education under the Study in Korea project.
CAU, particularly Vice President for International Affairs Hong Jun-hyun and staff members of the OIA, had a discussion with eleven universities including Columbia’s Universidad de Los Andes (272nd in the QS World University Rankings) and Spain’s Autonoma de Madrid (159th in the QS World University Rankings) to strike a new agreement and implement a student exchange program. They agreed to engage in the follow-up discussion to draw specific terms and conditions. On top of this, CAU had a meeting with 29 new international partners who recently signed an agreement–the Netherland’s University of Twente (172nd in the QS World University Rankings), Radboud University (204th in the QS World University Rankings), and France’s Toulouse Business School–so as to further strengthen the cooperative relationship.
CAU, while participating in the event, introduced itself as an institution with a 100-year history and promoted a plan to hold QS-APPLE 2018 Higher Education Conference and Exhibition on its Seoul campus in November.

Vice President Hong said, “As this year marks the centennial anniversary of our university, and this event is the last one organized for international higher education professionals during this year, we were very active in promoting Chung-Ang University. We discussed ways to diversify our exchange activities with European universities who became more important these days. I look forward to pursuing exchange with international partners down the road.”
CAU’s OIA will provide a briefing session for CAU students who desire to participate in 2019-2nd semester exchange/visiting programs, and the detailed schedule information will be posted on the university’s website (more specifically, the notice board of international exchange) or OIA’s website in early October.
