Chung-Ang University (CAU)’s College of Nursing ranked 51st-100th in the QS World University Rankins by Subject, and made its reputation widely known as the No. 1 nursing school in the country.

QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), a British university evaluation agency, recently announced the results of the “2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject.”

The 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject is an evaluation based on 5 academic fields and 55 detailed majors. It ranks universities based on five indicators, including academic reputation, corporate reputation, citations per paper, H-index, and international research network. A total of 1,559 universities participated in this year's evaluation.

The College of Nursing CAU is ranked 51st–100th among nursing schools around the world. This ranking is one step up from the 101st-150th place that the school has maintained for three years, from 2021 to 2023. This is a good example of the increasing competitiveness of CAU’s nursing school.

With the rise of the school’s world ranking, the rankings based on domestic universities also rose. There are a total of three domestic universities ranked in the 51st-100th places in the QS evaluation. These include the College of Nursing CAU and those of Seoul National University and Yonsei University.

This is not the first time that the College of Nursing has been ranked in first place while also being recognized for its competitiveness on the world stage. The school has ranked first in Korea for two consecutive years, in 2022 and 2023, in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), an academic evaluation of world universities by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. During the same period, the school’s world ranking also rose significantly, from 76th-100th to 40th.

President Park Sang-Gue said, “The College of Nursing has been consistently achieving good results in recent world university rankings. It proved its successful talent development program through excellent education and credible research results led by prominent professors. At present, our school has an education and research system that will lead the biomedical field with the College of Nursing, as well as the medicine, pharmacy, life science, and biotechnology departments. We will continue to support relevant academic units so that they can achieve outstanding results.”
