The “Visiting Alien Registration Service of the Ministry of Justice,” organized by the International Affairs Team of the Office of International Affairs for the convenience of foreign students, was held in the lobby on the second floor of Hall 310 (100th Anniversary Memorial Hall) at Chung-Ang University (CAU) on the 4th of April.

The Visiting Alien Registration Service helps international degree students and exchange students (international students) avoid the inconvenience of having to visit the immigration office. It is considered as the program with the highest level of satisfaction among international students, as alien registration can be completed within a day on campus.

On this day, the International Exchange Team carried out services, including fingerprint registration for alien residents with two staff members from the Seoul Immigration Office. As a result, about 350 international students at CAU completed their alien registration.

Alien registration is very important to international students. They must complete the registration process and receive an alien registration card to be able to open a domestic bank account, sign up for a telecommunications service, etc. It is expected that the international students at CAU will soon be ready to be compliant with the requirements to stay in Korea.

In the future, CAU’s international students are expected to receive more benefits. Recently, CAU obtained the highest grade, the Excellent Accreditation University, in the “International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS),” as announced by the Ministry of Education. By being designated as the Excellent Accreditation University, our school will be able to enjoy many advantages in visa-related work for international students, such as simplifying the visa issuance process for international students and allowing additional hours for part-time employment on weekdays.

Kim Hyeonjun, deputy director of the International Exchange Team, said, “In addition to the Visiting Alien Registration Service of the Ministry of Justice, the International Affairs Team provides various management services to increase international students’ interest in education at CAU. We will continue to focus on attracting top international students and providing high-quality management services, and will strengthen the school’s international status befitting of its reputation as an Excellent Accreditation University.”
