American University (AU) Visited CAU and Discussed the Signing of an Exchange Student Agreement

American University’s Kogod School of Business officials visited CAU on the 11th to discuss student exchange and cooperation, including signing an MOU with Chung-Ang University School of Business Administration. 


American University officials who visited CAU on the day were ▲ David Marchick, Dean of Kogod School of Business, ▲ Gwanhoo Lee, Department Chair of Information Technology and Analytics, and ▲ Jim Waite, Director of Alumni Relations. They were welcomed by Kim Chang-Bong, Dean of the College of Business and Economics, Lee Kaun Young, Department Chair of the School of Economics, Kwon Hyung-il, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, and Shin Joong Bum, Director of the International Affairs Team.

American University is a prestigious private university located in Washington D.C., the capital of the United States. Taking advantage of its location at the center of political activity, the university has produced many politicians, including current and former members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.


In particular, American University is recognized for its strong program for the study of International Business, which was ranked #8 in Best Graduate Schools among all universities in the United States according to the U.S. News & World Report (2022-2023).

During the meeting, the two universities discussed potential programs that can be cooperated on based on the schools of business, such as exchange student and dual degree programs. As a result, they decided to sign an MOU between the two universities and also agreed on student exchanges between the business schools for practical cooperation. They also signed a preliminary declaration of intent regarding the cooperative program. The visit was completed with the exchange of commemorative gifts and taking photos.


An official from the Office of International Affairs said, “This meeting will lead to a new opportunity for our students as exchange students in Washington D.C.” and added that they plan to proceed with signing an MOU and an exchange student agreement in the future.”
