CAU President on an Official Tour to the US Attended CES 2023

President Park Sang-Gue attended the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) as the first schedule of his official trip to the United States in the new year 2023. Park looked around future-leading cutting-edge technologies and encouraged CAU’s exhibition booth.

President Park Sang-Gue attended ‘CES 2023 (The International Consumer Electronics Show)’, which was held in Las Vegas, USA from Jan. 5-8. 


CES, hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is the world’s largest ICT conference, through which the technological achievements of companies and organizations with the best technology are showcased every year.


This year’s CES, focusing on human security, digital health, mobility, and sustainability, attracted some 3100 exhibitors from 173 countries around the world. Many of Korea’s major companies, such as Samsung, LG, Shinhan Bank, and Lotte, also joined the show.

This time, CAU set up a booth at this CES, introducing an ‘Intelligent video analysis system with the multi-camera system’ by some 30 professors and graduates of the AI Graduate School under the leadership of Provost Paik Joon-Ki. This booth exhibited at K-STARTUP drew great attention from many companies.

Visiting the booth, President Park was given a technological demonstration. Chairperson Yoo Ki-Hong of the Education Committee, National Assembly and presidents of the national universities including President Kim Eel-Hwan of Jeju National University, President Kim Dong-Won of Jeonbuk National University, President Kwon Soon-Ki of Gyeongsang National University, President Kim Heon-Young of Kangwon National University and President Chung Eui-Bae of Chungbuk National University visited CAU’s booth and discussed Industry-University joint research with CAU and technology usage.

Undergraduates of CAU also had a chance to participate in this CES. As part of LINC 3.0 by the Ministry of Education, five undergraduates joined as ‘CES supporters’. Meeting the students, President Park gave them special encouragement and asked them to carry out their work for the event’s smooth operation.

Jeong Seo Yoon, a student of the Department of International Logistics and a supporter of CES, said “It was a good opportunity to closely experience the trend of technology development and companies’ efforts for enhancing competitiveness.”

President also joined ‘SEOUL Night Networking’ party, organized by Seoul Business Agency (SBA). A technology demonstration and presentation on the main business of each company were given at the event, and the president shared opinions on cooperation plans with companies such as Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), Hancom, S-Oil, and Lotte Chemical.
