Prof. Park Sang-Gue Becomes 16th President of Chung-Ang University

The CAU Educational Foundation appointed Prof. Park Sang-Gue (58) of Statistics Department, College of Business and Economics to be the 16th President of Chung-Ang University.

 

Prof. Park served as Dean of Office of Admissions and Office of Planning & Budget, Vice President for Planning & General Affairs, Executive Vice-President for Administration and Chairman of the 100th Anniversary Committee at Chung-Ang University. From March 2020, he will carry out duties as President of Chung-Ang University.  


He has led change in Chung-Ang University by strengthening its admission system and introducing an innovative administration process, improving the competitiveness of each academic discipline and driving other positive changes.  


Highly recognized as a democratic leader of CAU with more than 100 years of history, he is ideally positioned to develop a new vision and strengthen the foundation for growth for the next 100 years.  


He has a high profile in the academic circle as he has built his expertise in higher education by serving as a board member of the Korea Student Aid Foundation and Chairman of the Business Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Education
’s financial support programs. He is now serving as a member of the Structural Reform Committee and Conflict Management Committee of the Ministry of Education. As an author of 10 books, he has been actively engaging in research activities, publishing nearly 100 articles in renowned academic journals. 

 

He graduated from Yongmoon High School and earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Applied Statistics from Chung-Ang University and a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
