Early in the match, Tongmyong University threatened our goal with aggressive attacks built on quick switches of play. However, Chung-Ang University remained highly focused in defense, successfully containing the pressure while looking for opportunities to attack. Lee Su-ro (21), who had performed well throughout the tournament after returning from an ankle injury, once again influenced the flow of the match with his tireless work rate and intelligent play. Lee Tak-ho (5) also helped build attacks with accurate and decisive cross-field passes.

Both teams maintained a tense and closely contested battle befitting a championship final, before Lee Tae-kyung (11), brought on by head coach Oh Hae-jong, broke the deadlock with a powerful left-footed strike. Our university held on to Lee’s opening goal to avenge last year’s defeat in the U-League Championship, securing its second title of the season and reclaiming the crown for the first time in three years since its 2023 championship victory.

Meanwhile, the championship-winning football team visited the President’s Office to present the championship flag and trophy to President Park Se-hyun and other senior university officials. Head coach Oh Hae-jong, the coaching staff and players, Executive Director Ko Seok-beom, and members of the university leadership attended the event to congratulate the team on its outstanding achievement and pose for commemorative photos with the championship trophy.

President Park Se-hyun said, “The players’ outstanding performances have greatly strengthened our pride as members of Chung-Ang University. I am very proud that they achieved such an impressive result while staying healthy despite the hot weather,” adding, “I hope the team continues its strong run in the upcoming league matches and tournaments without any injuries, and we will arrange a warm occasion to encourage the players for all their hard work.”
