Chung-Ang University (President Sang-gue Park) announced that it will host the '26th AIIF (Advanced Imaging International Festival)' online from November 5 to 8, 2025.

The event, co-organized by the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film at Chung-Ang University, Smart Image Content Research Center, and the BK21 Four Project for AI-Content Future Industry Education & Research Group, will be conducted as an international academic and artistic exchange platform that enables global participation through an online platform.

This year’s festival, under the theme 'AI^ver.6.0: Neuromancer’s Dream', explores the emerging landscape of new sensibilities created at the intersection of art, artificial intelligence, and society. Inspired by William Gibson’s science fiction novel 『Neuromancer』 (1984), the festival seeks to embody a futuristic imagination in which artificial intelligence and virtual reality expand human memory, perception, and reality, while exploring new visual languages and social meanings at the intersection of art and technology.

The festival is composed of three main programs: Exhibition, Conference, and Film. The exhibition 'Horizons of Synesthesia' is a showcase of the fusion of art and technology that expands the boundaries of human perception. Graduate students participate by presenting new experiments in high-tech art, including media art, interactive installations, and AI-based video, while works by international artists selected through an open call are also exhibited. The conference 'Palimpsest of Reality' is an academic program that explores the multilayered realities at the intersection of artificial intelligence, art, and society. The festival features participation from international experts from more than five countries, including Nao Tokui (professor and artist, Shiga University, Japan) and Isabelle Arvers (independent researcher and curator, France), as well as experts from the United States, Australia, India, and other countries, and also includes research presentations by graduate students. The film program 'Echoes of Memories' is a showcase of student-produced film previews, presenting works by emerging creators that express the echoes of memory and emotion through the language of cinema. These sensory narratives, reinterpreted from the perspective of the younger generation, are presented to a global audience through online screenings.

Jin-wan Park, professor at the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film (Director of the project), stated, “AIIF is a platform where academic discourse and artistic experimentation converge, offering an opportunity to witness new creative trends that transcend the boundaries of technology and art.” Detailed information about the AIIF 2025 program can be found on the official website: https://aiif.cau.ac.kr.
