Chung-Ang University's startup, ContiLab, led by Professor Park Chan-sik from the School of Architecture and Building Science, has been selected for the TIPS (Tech Innovation Program for Startup Korea) program, which is organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, on September 2.

The TIPS program, which ContiLab has been selected for, supports private investment-driven technology startups. Its primary goal is to discover promising startups with innovative technologies and ideas and help them lead the global market. As a result of this selection, ContiLab will receive 500 million won in technology development funding over the next two years.

ContiLab, a video AI specialized company in the field of industrial safety, was selected for the TIPS program through its project titled "Development of On-Device Video AI Solutions to Reduce Serious Accidents in the Industrial Safety Sector." Based on the funding, the company plans to focus on developing lightweight and low-power camera hardware based on NPU and video-based hazard detection AI technology, which will be convenient for use in small-scale construction sites and industrial workplaces.

Professor Park Chan-Sik stated, "In a time when social interest in safety is high due to recent laws such as the Serious Accident Punishment Act, it is very meaningful to have ContiLab's video AI technology recognized for its creativity and innovation. We aim to develop products that can be easily used on-site, ensuring safety in industrial environments and achieving ContiLab's vision of 'zero accident rates in workplaces,' while also leading a transformation in safety culture."
