Chung-Ang University(CAU) has officially announced the establishment of the "PTIT Virtual Convergence University" in collaboration with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) in Vietnam.
On the 16th, a ceremony to announce the establishment of the "PTIT Virtual Convergence University" was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, attended by Wi Jeong-hyun, the Dean of the Virtual Convergence University, and Dang Hoai Bac, the President of PTIT.
The PTIT Virtual Convergence University was established based on the MOU signed between our university and PTIT in December of last year. At that time, the two universities agreed to establish our university's Virtual Convergence University at PTIT, which is the first IT-based new technology convergence college in South Korea, thereby solidifying their collaborative framework for joint research and industry-academic cooperation, as well as working together to nurture talented individuals in Vietnam. The two universities aimed to create substantial synergy beyond simply attracting international students or establishing departments.
Dang Hoai Bac, the President of PTIT, stated, "Students selected for the PTIT Virtual Convergence University will receive digital education in gaming and IT from top IT professionals. We are also considering expanding majors into various fields in the future."
The deans of the PTIT Virtual Convergence University will be Wi Jeong-hyun, the Dean of the Virtual Convergence University, and Cao Min Tang, a professor at PTIT. Utilizing the potential and strengths of both universities, they will operate a curriculum aimed at strengthening competitiveness and globalization in the IT industry for outstanding local students in Vietnam. The PTIT Virtual Convergence University, which will collaborate on student admissions, curriculum design, and overall operations, is expected to become an excellent example of leading international educational cooperation.
Wi Jeong-hyun, the Dean, stated, "The establishment of this joint university, combining the experiences of our country's universities with the enthusiasm of Vietnamese universities, will provide significant momentum for the development of the IT industry in Vietnam. We plan to focus not only on specialized skills but also on fostering creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to create a central hub for IT education cooperation in Vietnam."
Park Sang-kyu, the President, said, "The PTIT Virtual Convergence University represents a groundbreaking challenge that opens a new chapter for domestic universities in entering and collaborating in the global higher education market. Chung-Ang University plans to expand this new global university education cooperation model throughout Asia."
