Program Introduction Session

The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of the Department of International Logistics (Foundation Director: Woo Su-han, Department Chairman: Polin Lai) was selected as the beneficiary of the sponsorship as part of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ Talent Nurturing Program.

The program is designed to offer financial support to International Logistics students in internship programs and CAU was announced as the candidate of the program in February and its business plan was approved on March 30. Over the next five years, 100 million won will be supported annually (the total amount of the fund can be adjusted depending on program results).

Not only attending students but also students on a leave of absence and those who have completed their studies but not yet graduated are eligible to the funds and they can receive additional funds if they participate in overseas or long-term internship programs. Even those who are double-majoring International Logistics could be awarded the funds depending on the budget. To increase the effectiveness of the internship programs, participants will get consultations before and after their internship as well as mentoring services.

Around 60 students from the Department of International Logistics have participated in internship programs offered by nearly 30 businesses as part of an academic-industry cooperation program since 2012. The Department has provided guaranteed internship jobs to its students in cooperation with Hyundai Glovis and CJ Logistics and is expected to increase its support for students as it signed an MOU with Lotte Global Logistics last year.
