CAU’s Office of International Affairs Holds Opening Ceremony of ‘Anseong Campus Global Lounge’

Chung-Ang University (CAU) holds an opening ceremony of Anseong Campus Global Lounge at 12 p.m. on Mar 16th, 2018 (Thursday) in front of Global Lounge located on the first floor of Building 802, also known as Faculty Office Building. Global Lounge was established to promote exchanges with international students on Anseong Campus.

President Kim Chang-soo, Executive Vice President for Anseong Campus Bang Jae-Suk, Dean Ryu Buom-yong of the College of Biotechnology and Natural Resources, Dean Kwak Dae-young of the College of Arts, Dean Huh Jung-hoon of the College of Sport Sciences, Executive Director Choi Jae-won of the Office of Student Services (Anseong), Director Kim Young-ho of the Committee on Anseong Campus Development, and Executive Director Park Chang-jin of the Office of General Affairs (Anseong) attended the opening ceremony, organized by the Office of International Affairs (OIA). The event was composed of a ribbon-cutting ceremony and congratulatory remarks.


President Kim Chang-soo said in his congratulatory speech, “I hope that the newly established Global Lounge on Anseong Campus enables our students to better practice both the Korean and foreign languages. In addition, the university leadership will make a sustained effort so as to enhance the competitiveness of Anseong Campus and nurture the talent.”


Global Lounge will serve as a platform for CAU students to improve language skills. International students can learn the Korean language through exchanges with Korean students, and vice versa. Global Lounge offers two programs of Korean Lounge (K-Lounge) and Chinese Lounge (C-Lounge) with determined operation time during this semester, and is scheduled to additionally provide English Lounge (E-Lounge) program in the future.
