Chung-Ang University (CAU) ranked 7th in the top shipping school research rankings published by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). PolyU conducted a search of the Citation Report in the ISI Web of Science to identify shipping-related articles published between 2013 and 2015 under the category of shipping, and found a total of 409 articles over the same period. CAU published 13 articles and ranked 7th in the number of shipping articles published between 2013 and 2015, following PolyU (1st place with 31 articles published) and National University of Singapore (2nd place with 26 articles published). In addition, another Korean university, Inha University, put its name on the list with 7 articles published (16th-19th place).

On top of this, the rankings of ten key journals, which published shipping articles between 2013 and 2015, were released by PolyU. Maritime Policy and Management (SSCI, Impact factor=1.22, 2015)–led by Professor Li Kevin of CAU Department of International Logistics (also a researcher of CAU Northeast Asia Logistics & Distribution Research Institute (NALDI))–published 75 articles, which enabled it to reaffirm its status as an internationally renowned journal in the logistics and shipping sector.

CAU Department of International Logistics was established in 2011 as an international logistics-specialized department. Since then, the department has put enormous effort into nurturing talented people and improving research quality. CAU has made progress in the international logistics sector, and the PolyU’s rankings demonstrate CAU’s achievement. Other than the shipping sector, the Department of International Logistics has published a lot of articles under the key research categories such as logistics management and supply chain management in the world-class journals.
