Graduation Requirements

  • Minimum time limit: eight semesters (seven for early graduates with a minimum GPA of 4.0)
  • Students must meet all the requirements of the Graduation Recognition System (applicable to the freshmen who entered CAU after 2000).
  • Students must pass the graduate audit of the colleges of their first and second majors (including combined majors).
  • Students must earn the required units of general and core subjects.
  • Students must complete all the required general and core subjects. Refer to “Credit Acquisition Standards.”
  • Students must successfully complete the required exams/thesis (including the general graduation exam and graduation thesis), lab reports, practicum, and presentations.
  • Students must meet the standards required by the department (faculty) of their double majors for a graduation thesis.
    Combined majors, however, do not require a graduation thesis.
  • Students of accelerated bachelor’s/Master's programs must earn a minimum of 134 units and may get a waiver for the graduation thesis or exam.
