  • All translation notarization must be issued by the proper authorities in the applicant’s home country except for unavoidable cases.
  • Note
    • 1. The documents should be translated and notarized into Korean or English if they were written in languages other than Korean or English.
    • 2. Successful candidates must submit certificate of graduation, certificate of registration, and transcript with an Apostille issued from the government authorities in the applicant’s home country. Successful candidates from countries that are not member nations of Apostille should submit the documents with consular legalization issued from Korean consulate in the applicant’s home country. (※ Must be received by January 7, 2015 (Wed). Instead of the Apostille certificates, Chinese applicants can submit academic record certificates and degree certificates issued by the relevant verification center under the Chinese Ministry of Education)

Application fee is not refundable after application period.

Applicants who submitted level 4 or higher TOPIK score will be refunded 30,000 won to the account listed on their application form. If the refund is sent to a foreign account with foreign currency, the amount refunded will reflect the exchange rate on the day the transfer is made. Applicants will be responsible for covering any transfer fees in that case.

Applicants for Housing and Interior Design and Fashion Design from the Department of Design will be assessed based on the evaluation standards for the College of Humanities applicants, which require no practic test.

Notes on Documents Submission
  • All documents submitted must be originals unless certified copies have been approved by an officer of Office of International Affairs at Chung-Ang University in the case of unavoidable circumstances.
  • Any documents written in languages other than English or Korean must be accompanied by a Korean translation certified by a public notary.
  • After the on-line application, a hard copy of the application forms and required documents must be put in a mailing envelope, on which the given envelope cover (printable from the web application system) is glued and mailed to the following address :
    Office of International Affairs, Chung-Ang University, Main Bldg (1st floor), 84 Heuksuk-Ro, Dongjak-Gu, Seoul, Korea
    ※ Must be received between 2014. 8. 25(Mon) 09:00 ~ 9. 5(Fri) 17:00.
  • If different names are used among the submitted documents, proper documents issued by the legal authorities in the applicant’s home country must also be submitted to prove all the names refer to the same person, the applicant.
  • Successful applicants who were expected to graduate at the time of application must submit a certificate of graduation and academic transcript to the Office of International Affairs before their first semester in CAU begins.
    ※Without submission of the above mentioned Required Documents, your admission will be cancelled.
  • The University reserves athe right to demand additional documents to prove or verify the authenticity of submissions or eligibility.
  • Any inaccurate information in the documents or incomplete documents may cause exclusion of the applicant from consideration.
  • The submitted documents will not be returned to applicants. Other issues not dealt within this guidebook will be handled based upon the decision of the Commission of University Admission Management of CAU.
  • Successful candidates must submit certificate of graduation, certificate of registration, and transcript with an Apostille issued from the government authorities in the applicant’s home country. Successful candidates from countries that are not member nations of Apostille, should submit the documents with consular legalization issued from Korean consulate in applicant’s home country.
